The gaming notebook Omen 16 from HP comes to the market in an updated version. The most obvious change to the previous generation of the 16.1-inch notebook is the case, which is now available not only in black, but also in white. But a lot has also happened under the shell. So, the manufacturer now uses Intel Alder Lake H or AMD Ryzen 6000HX processors. The Core i9-12900H and the Ryzen 9 6900HX mark the maximum performance. The Intel model is combined with Nvidia Geforce RTX cards up to the 3070 Ti, the AMD variant comes with a Radeon RX 6650M at most.

According to HP, an improved cooling system with a fifth heat pipe and an additional exhaust duct ensures improved cooling of the CPU, GPU and SSD, but should even work quieter than before. The Omen Gaming Hub software now includes an additional dynamic power function that assigns the optimal electrical power to the CPU and GPU in games. The respective performance requirements and the temperature of the components are evaluated in real time.

The RAM is up to 32 GB, the PCIe Gen4 SSD holds up to two terabytes, depending on the model. The anti-reflective 16.1-inch panel with narrow edges delivers the maximum QHD resolution with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 165 Hz refresh rate. With the RGB-illuminated keyboard, colors and color effects can be individually adjusted via the Omen Gaming Hub. The 2022 model of the Omen 16 will go on sale in July, the starting price is 1,599 euros (RRP).

With a price starting at 899 euros, the more compact Victus 15 with a 144 Hz Full HD display is significantly cheaper. It should be available from August. Here, too, the manufacturer offers Intel and AMD variants. However, the top models here are equipped with an Intel Core i7-12700H or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H weaker. The graphics solutions are also one size smaller with Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 3050 Ti and the AMD Radeon RX 6500M. The RAM is a maximum of 16 GB and the M.2 SSD with PCIe Gen4 interface can hold up to one terabyte. In addition to Mica Silver and Ceramic White, there is a third color variant with Performance Blue. The Omen gaming Hub software is also preinstalled here.

In addition to many business notebooks such as the featherweight Elite Dragonfly G3 with the Envy Desktop PC, HP's CES innovations also include a powerful stationary PC.
