Catphones has introduced two new mobile phones, the Cat S42 H+ and the Cat B40 4G feature Phone, which are characterized above all by the fact that they have antimicrobial protection. They can also be cleaned with alcohol or disinfectants.

The Bullitt Group, worldwide licensee for Catphones, presents two tough mobile phones with antibacterial and antimicrobial protection. The Cat S42 H + (Hygiene Plus Innovation) and Cat B40 were subjected to antimicrobial biomaster technology during the manufacturing process. Silver ions are used to reduce bacterial growth. The technology has been tested according to the international standard ISO 22196 and is proven to inhibit bacterial growth by more than 80 percent within 15 minutes and even by 99.9 percent within 24 hours.

The durable Cat B40 can also be cleaned with alcohol or disinfectant.

In addition, the two resistant mobile phones are waterproof and comply with protection classes IP68 and IP69. Thus, they can be completely immersed in warm water and washed with soap. Cleaning with alcohol, disinfectants or chlorine cleaners should not damage the equipment.

The two new catphones are therefore particularly suitable for medical personnel in hospitals as well as for employees in emergency and rescue services or in the transport and security sector.

Technical Equipment

While the Cat S42 H + is a smart phone without Android 10 (an upgrade to version 11 is planned for autumn 2021), the Cat B40 is a classic feature phone.

The 5.5-inch Cat S42 H+ is powered by the four-core Mediatek Helio A20 MT 6761D chipset. There is 3 GB of RAM and a 32 GB non-generous internal memory, which can be expanded via micro SD card. A 13-MP main camera and a 5-MP selfie snap are also installed. The 4,200 mAh battery should guarantee long battery life. The robust smartphone should be operated with wet fingers and gloves.

The Cat B40 has a 1,800 mAh built-in lithium-ion battery that is designed to allow standby times of up to 30 days and talk times of up to 11 hours. The display measures 2.4 inches in diagonal and dissolves with QVGA. A 2-MP camera is also installed in the feature phone.

The indestructible mobile phones will be available from May. The Cat B40 will cost 80 euros (MSRP) and the Cat S42 H+ around 270 euros (MSRP).

The Rugged Phone Cat S52 does not require an additional protective cover.
