Oneplus is expanding the Nord series and introducing three new products that will be available from May 25, 2022. These include two smartphones: the Oneplus Nord 2T and the Oneplus Nord 2 CE Lite. In addition, the Chinese manufacturer is also launching its first audio product, the Nord Buds.
The new flagship Nord 2T is an updated version of the Nord 2. A new chip was installed for this. Instead of the Dimensity 1200-AI, the successor of the Mediatek Dimensity 1300 is now used in the Nord 2T. The six-nanometer processor has eight cores clocked at up to 3 GHz. The SoC has either 8 or 12 GB of RAM at its side, and it can be purchased with either 128 or 256 GB of storage capacity. A Mali-G77 is installed as the GPU. The new smartphone runs Android 12 as an operating system.
Fast charging with 80 watts
Another innovation is the fast charging technology. The battery still has a nominal charge of 4,500 mAh, but can now be quickly charged with 80 watts. With the predecessor, this was “only” possible with up to 65 watts. According to the manufacturer, the battery should be fully charged within 27 minutes. The Nord 2T cannot be charged wirelessly.
Display and camera
The display and camera of the Nord 2T are no different from its predecessor. The 6.43-inch Amoled display has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The refresh rate is at 90 Hz. Furthermore, a fingerprint sensor for unlocking the smartphone is integrated into the display.
As a camera, the Oneplus Nord 2T also has a triple module installed, which protrudes slightly from the back of the device. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels with an f/1.8 aperture. The IMX766 sensor is from Sony. In addition, there is an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. The camera system is completed by a mono lens that resolves with two megapixels. In addition, 4K videos with 30/60 fps are possible.
The front camera has 32 megapixels with an f/2.45 aperture. A sensor from Sony (IMX615) is also installed here. In addition to 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC, the device supports connections.
The Oneplus Nord 2T is available in the color variants “Gray Shadow” and “Jade Fog”. The version with 8 GB of RAM and 126 GB of flash memory costs 300 euros (RRP). The RRP for 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory is 400 euros.
Oneplus Nord CE 2 Lite
In addition, Oneplus has introduced another smartphone. The Oneplus Nord CE Lite comes with a 6.59-inch LCD display. The resolution is 2, 400×1, 080 pixels, and the refresh rate is at 120 Hz.
The rear triple camera consists of a 64 MP main camera, a macro sensor and a depth of field sensor, each with 2 megapixels. The front cam has a resolution of 16 megapixels.
The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 from Qualcomm. The GPU is an Adreno 619. The processor has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory available, which can be expanded by up to one terabyte via mircoSD.
The operating system is Android 12. The 5,000 mAh battery can be quickly charged with 33 watts. The Oneplus Nord CE 2 Lite comes in the colors “Blue Tide” and “Black Dusk” for 300 euros (RRP) on the market.
Oneplus Nord Buds
In addition, the manufacturer is expanding its range of accessories with in-ear earplugs. The Oneplus Nord Buds are equipped with four microphones to filter out annoying background noise. In addition, a 12.4 mm titanium driver is installed, which should provide rich bass tones and treble.
The buds also support Dolby Atmos. This is Dolby’s spatial audio technology, which emulates the 3D audio effects of a typical surround sound system.
According to the manufacturer, the headphones should provide 30 hours of playback on a single charge. The Oneplus Nord Buds will be available from the end of May for 50 euros (RRP).
