Sustainable hardware from Acer
With the new devices in the Vero range, Acer is not only relying on recycled plastic and recyclable packaging. Rather, the PCs, for example, should be easy to disassemble, which simplifies repairs or upgrades and extends their service life.
Originally, Acer initiated the Vero product range as part of Earthion together with partners, customers and employees with the aim of developing innovative and integrated solutions that help to address environmental problems for a more sustainable future. By 2035, Acer wants to source 100 percent renewable energy, as well as more environmentally friendly product designs and the reduction of CO2-Reach the supply chain footprint.
Acer Aspire Vero Notebooks
The two new sustainable notebooks of the Vero series, the Aspire Vero (AV14-51) and the Aspire Vero (AV15-52) work with Alder Lake processors from Intel. Both the 14-inch and the 15-inch notebook offer Full HD resolution and common connections such as WiFi 6, Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C and USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A.
The new Aspire Vero (AV15-52) has a 38.1 cm (15 inch) Full HD display and, like the AV14-51, is powered by new 12th generation Intel Core processors. Thanks to two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen1 ports and a Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C port, it offers convenient and fast connectivity. Both sustainable laptops also meet the requirements of an Intel Evo notebook with fast responsiveness, long battery life and fast charging and booting from hibernation.
Integrated into the Vero notebooks are OceanGlass trackpads, which are made of recycled marine plastic. And the case, the screen frame and the keycaps are made of PCR plastic (up to 50 percent). In addition, no paint was used for the case. To extend the life of laptops, it is easy to carry out repairs and upgrades, since the bottom cover can be removed with standard screws to replace RAM or SSD.
The multi-purpose box of the notebook packaging is designed in such a way that the inner partition can be used as a laptop stand. The included laptop sleeve and protective film are made entirely of industrially recycled plastic (PIR).
The Acer Aspire Vero (AV14-51) and the Aspire Vero (AV15-52) will be available from the 3rd quarter of 2022. The non-binding recommended retail prices start at 799 euros (RRP).
