The best audiobooks that you have heard of 2015

As a long-standing Audible customer, I’ve heard a lot of audiobooks on the platform. Here are four recommendations to musical works that I liked recently are:

Jon Krakauer: Into the icy heights

Gripping factual report on the Mount Everest of 1996, which resulted in a disaster. Fantastic reading to understand what drives people to the highest mountain in the world. How irrational decisions in the “mountain fever”, but also random extreme weather changes, to make the supposedly safe climb to the “roof of the world” a risk that costs lives, until today, almost every year, people.

Andy Weir: The Martian

Mark Watney, who is stranded as probably einsamster man of the universe alone on Mars, and on a daily basis with limited resources and enormous creativity is struggling for Survival, and his return to earth. This Science Fiction novel puts the emphasis on Science, it is basically a modern Robinson Crusoe-novel and exciting, the man almost gets a heart beat. I had watched the movie first, then parallel read the book and the audio book belongs to. In terms of content and in terms of voltage, the book to the movie, the book is presented also formidable.

Alina Bronsky: The braid of my grandmother

History of Russian immigrants in the ‘ 80s to Germany and try to establish themselves in society. But it is also a family portrait that demonstrates how an ultra-mother makes Euro tables tall her grandson’s life a living hell and how this grandson emancipated timid. Insanely good tragedy resolving taxonomic novel, the audiobook is also great performed by Sophie Rois.

Delia Owens: the song of The crayfish

The story of a girl in the sixties of the 20th century. Century to grow up in the marshes of the US East coast alone, after she was abandoned by her family. As you grow up, what is the relationship to nature and how she slowly approaches the man. The book is portrait, society, study, courtroom drama, Crime and romance all in one. The story is brutal and sensitive at the same time, the narrative is incredibly well composed by. I liked it a lot and made me a long time to mentally busy, although I can actually start neither with crime novels, love novels, something.
