An Invisible Problem Fixing By Orange country Commissioners

The recent demand on the Orange County Pet Store Ban by the animal rights organizations is a suggestion to a non existent problem

Orlando, FL, June 4, 2021, ZEXPRWIRE Over the issue of Orange County Pet Store Ban two leaders have shared their opinions in a clear manner. Among the two Commissioner Emily Bonilla makes the proposition of an ordinance. This would impose a ban on kitten and puppy sales from the retailers. She shares her personal story regarding a pet purchase from a local pet store, whereas the pet had health problems.

The county Commissioner Nicole Wilson also added that this initiative should be taken for the proper consumer protection, residential protection as well as animal protection.

However, the question rises that will the Orlando Pet Store Ban get enough support from the public? The ones advocating the bans make the claim that this ban will put the sale of sick animals from the store to a stop. This would save the consumer’s agony of getting sick animal who pass away too soon. However, it is also a fact that there is a strict Pen lemon law in Florida protecting the consumers having sick pets.

It is a fact that the animal rights groups have been speaking out against the pet stores, puppy mills and sick puppies getting sold. However there stands a very credible question about whether these bans will throw the legitimate business persons out of their trade leaving the consumers no other option but to buy the pets without any consumer protection. It should be kept in mind that the lemon laws that Florida has happens to be some of the best ones in the country.

When the buyer purchases the pets directly from any online seller, who is most commonly called “backyard breeder”, then there stays no assurance in consumer protection as maintained by the pet retailers. The online sellers, in many cases, offer guarantees for as less as three days. Within this time, all that the pet owner can do is to make the pet checked by a vet and if the puppy is found to be sick then return it to the seller in exchange of a refund. But there are different ailments or physical complications that do not emerge within such a small timeframe and when they do, the online pet seller shows reluctance in getting the puppy returned. Because of not having any protection of the Florida lemon law, the buyers dins not option to address the issue.

On the contrary, the consumers get the service of the Orange County pet stores that are mostly run by families who are the local residents and they have good customer ratings online also. So in case Commissioners like Bonilla and Wilson is really looking forward to stop the trade of sick animals, then they need to speak for the equal regulations for both the non profit making and the profit making organizations. That would be the right choice for everyone.
