With the new devices in the Vero range, Acer is not only relying on recycled plastic and recyclable packaging. Rather, the PCs, for example, should be easy to disassemble, which simplifies repairs or upgrades and extends their service life.

Originally, Acer initiated the Vero product range as part of Earthion together with partners, customers and employees with the aim of developing innovative and integrated solutions that help to address environmental problems for a more sustainable future. By 2035, Acer wants to source 100 percent renewable energy, as well as more environmentally friendly product designs and the reduction of CO2-Reach the supply chain footprint.
Acer Aspire Vero Notebooks
The two new sustainable notebooks of the Vero series, the Aspire Vero (AV14-51) and the Aspire Vero (AV15-52) work with Alder Lake processors from Intel. Both the 14-inch and the 15-inch notebook offer Full HD resolution and common connections such as WiFi 6, Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C and USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A.
The new Aspire Vero (AV15-52) has a 38.1 cm (15 inch) Full HD display and, like the AV14-51, is powered by new 12th generation Intel Core processors. Thanks to two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen1 ports and a Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C port, it offers convenient and fast connectivity. Both sustainable laptops also meet the requirements of an Intel Evo notebook with fast responsiveness, long battery life and fast charging and booting from hibernation.
Integrated into the Vero notebooks are OceanGlass trackpads, which are made of recycled marine plastic. And the case, the screen frame and the keycaps are made of PCR plastic (up to 50 percent). In addition, no paint was used for the case. To extend the life of laptops, it is easy to carry out repairs and upgrades, since the bottom cover can be removed with standard screws to replace RAM or SSD.
The multi-purpose box of the notebook packaging is designed in such a way that the inner partition can be used as a laptop stand. The included laptop sleeve and protective film are made entirely of industrially recycled plastic (PIR).
The Acer Aspire Vero (AV14-51) and the Aspire Vero (AV15-52) will be available from the 3rd quarter of 2022. The non-binding recommended retail prices start at 799 euros (RRP).
Acer Veriton Vero All-In-One
For environmentally conscious home office workers, the Veriton Vero All-in-One (VVZ4694G) is a powerful PC with a space-saving design. The 24-inch desktop has a Full HD IPS display. It is powered by 12th generation Intel Core i9 processors. To do this, there are Geforce MX550 graphics processors from Nvidia and up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory and two M.2 SSDs with a capacity of up to 2 TB. In addition, WiFi 6E is also on board, as well as two USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C ports. To protect the eyes there is a Blue Light shield with three blue light filter levels.
And for the protection of sensitive data, the Veriton Vero is equipped with an IR scanner for face recognition via Windows Hello. In addition, the built-in Tobii Aware Smart Sensor locks the screen and blurs it when another user tries to access it. The integrated 5 MP webcam can be locked after use. During video calls, the camera can be aligned either to a user or to a group.
Like the Vero notebooks, the Veriton Vero AIO case uses PCR plastic (30 percent). It is delivered with a keyboard and mouse, which are also made of PCR material. The packaging is completely recyclable and the screwless cover can be easily removed for upgrades or repairs.
The sustainable all-in-one should be launched in the 3rd quarter of 2022 and cost 919 euros.
Acer Vero Monitors
The two new Vero IPS monitors are also characterized by an environmentally friendly design. The housings of the 27-inch Acer CB273 and the 23.8-inch Acer B247Y G are made of 85 percent PCR plastic and 5 percent OBP plastic. The two displays offer Full HD resolution and reduce blue light to protect the eyes (TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe-certified). The Acer CB273 is also equipped with a KVM switch, which allows switching between several connected computers. Equipped with a USB Type-C port, the monitor can supply additional peripherals with up to 90 W of power.
Both the Acer Vero B27Y G and the Acer Vero CB273 are expected to be available from Q3 2022. The RRP starts at 269 euros.
Acer Vero PD2325W Projector
The Acer Vero PD2325W is an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly projector with a case made of 35percent PCR plastic and a packaging made of 85 percent recycled paper. According to Acer, the lifetime of the LED light is up to 30,000 hours and the energy saving is up to 50 percent compared to conventional projectors with mercury-containing lamps.
Furthermore, the Vero projector should be distinguished with a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, a luminous intensity of 2,200 lumens. It offers WXGA resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels) and supports a Rec. 709 Color gamut coverage of 125 percent. In addition, the keystone correction automatically compensates for vertical distortions and the blue light shield filters harmful blue light from the projection. In addition, a 5W speaker is integrated for playing videos, music and movies without the need to connect a separate speaker. The Vero PD2325W can also be mounted on the ceiling and supports 24/7 continuous operation.
The Acer Vero PD2325W will be available in stores from the 3rd quarter of 2022 at an MSRP of 549 euros.
Vero Mouse and Keyboard
The Vero line is completed by new peripherals, including a mouse and a keyboard. They are designed to reduce waste and carbon emissions during production. In addition, they should cause less noise during use. The top covers of the keyboard and mouse are made of 65 percent PCR plastic, while the bottom cover is made of 30 percent recycled marine plastic. The mouse and keyboard are also designed for durability. For example, the mouse has a battery life of 18 months and the Vero keyboard has a life of 5 million clicks.
The keys of the mouse and keyboard should be almost noiseless. Acer also plans to offer the peripheral devices as consumer and commercial models. The consumer versions will feature a combination of light and anthracite grey with bright yellow accents, while a more discreet, monochrome anthracite grey will be available for professionals.
According to Acer, the Vero mouse will be available from Q4 2022 at an RRP of 24.90 euros. Also from the 4th quarter of 2022 there will be the combo set (consisting of Vero mouse and Vero keyboard). The price will be 69.90 euros (RRP).
