As the AI startup boom progresses, investors appear to be leaving few niches unfunded. That was apparent in this week’s lineup of large funding rounds, which featured AI infrastructure providers, a foundational model developer, a content protection platform for the AI age, and other AI-focused startups among the top investment recipients.
The biggest investment, $2 billion, went to Axiom Solutions International, a spinout focused on cloud and power infrastructure that is hoping to benefit from the AI buildout. Other large rounds went to TypeSafe AI, developer of a fast-growing new model, and Oratomic, a quantum computing startup.
1. Axiom Solutions International, $2B, cloud and power infrastructure: Axiom Solutions International, a private cloud and power infrastructure company spun out of manufacturing services provider Flex, secured $2 billion in new financing. Flex says it plans to separate Axiom into an independent publicly traded company early next year.
2. TypeSafe AI, $870M, foundational AI: TypeSafe AI, developer of Jev, a recently launched AI model with a large and growing early following, raised $870 million in new funding with Andreessen Horowitz as the largest investor, according to a Bloomberg report.
