Lenovo Thinkpad X, T, P – and L-series Thinkpads with Ryzen 5000 and Tiger Lake
Lenovo is launching a new Generation of Thinkpad Notebooks with the latest Intel and AMD processors on the market. In the Premium compact models X13 and X13 Yoga, the manufacturer of Displays with an aspect ratio of 16:10.
The Name of the Thinkpad has the Business laptops still a special sound. Lenovo is committed here, the Nimbus of the classic IBM mobile computer to maintain. In the meantime, there are four model lines ranging from the light of 13.3-inch speakers, the X-series about the T – and P-series to the devices of the L-series. The latter form the introduction to the think book-world. Currently, Lenovo introduces the 2021er Generation of these devices, for the most part, both with Intel Tiger Lake processors as well as AMD Ryzen 5000U comes on the market. The exact processor variants, the manufacturer is not announced yet. Therefore, it is not clear whether each of Zen 3 processors, the Cezanne family or Zen 2 processors Lucienne series are used. They are, in principle, a Refresh of Ryzen-4000U-processors (Renoir). The Intel devices are generally equipped with Thunderbolt 4.
The Thinkpad X13 and X13 Yoga
In the 2021er models, the compact X13-series Lenovo joins the Trend towards higher performance Displays. The Clamshell Notebook X13 and the 360-degree Convertible X13 Yoga are well with 13.3-inch Displays that have an aspect ratio of 16:10. The touch screen pen detection of Yoga, only with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, with the option of a Privacy Guard. The conventional X13, however, comes with a WQXGA Option in the trade, so with 2.560 x 1,536 pixels. While the Clamshell device with Intel or AMD will be processor available, the unit is equipped Convertible exclusively with a Tiger Lake CPU up to Core i7 with vPro. As a graphics unit comes with the AMD device the integrated Radeon GPU and an Intel Notebooks Iris-Xe graphics unit. For the X13 Yoga, the manufacturer specifies a weight of 1.2 kg, the X13 is 100 grams lighter. In addition to WiFi 6, on request, a 4G – or 5G-module.
Thinkpad T and L
The Thinkpad T devices are positioned in the upper middle class. With a 14-inch Full HD or 4K Display, the 1.47 kg heavy T14 and 1.28 kg lighter T14s on the market. Here the choice between Ryzen 5000U and Intel Tiger Lake as well as between a 4G and a 5G Option. The T15 comes with Intel processor and also FHD or 4K Display. For mobile Internet access without Wi-Fi, it only has LTE as an Option. In the AMD devices, the Radeon GPU in the processor is in principle responsible for the graphical part. In the case of the Intel versions of the T14 and T15 Nvidia Geforce MX450 as additional graphics card in the option list.
The lower the Thinkpad L14 and L15-devices with a 15.6-incher with AMD-CPU can be ordered. Here, the devices are equipped with the maximum amount of Full-HD display, the entry-level models, even with an HD-TN-Panels.
In the case of the Thinkpad-P-models are Notebooks, files Lenovo as a lightweight Workstations. In the AMD variant of the Thinkpad P14s a Ryzen-Pro is the installed processor. Since Lenovo specifies a maximum Boost clock speed of 4.4 GHz, it will be already a Ryzen Pro 5000. While here only the processor and integrated Radeon Vega graphics unit is available, the Intel variant P14s i and the Tiger Lake stocked P15s, on request, with an additional Nvidia-T500-video card to equip. It is, in principle, to the Quadro Version of the Geforce GTX 1650. In the basic version, the Thinkpad models P14s and P15s have a Full HD IPS Panel. Alternatively, a calibratable 4K Panel with HDR400 is available.
