New access point from Zyxel
Zyxel NWA55AXE: WiFi 6 for outdoor use
Related providers
The network provider Zyxel launches an access point for WiFi 6. The NWA55AXE is IP55 certified and is especially suitable for the outdoor area, i.e. garden, terrace or garage. It also allows Wi-Fi access between buildings.
Zyxel introduces a weatherproof outdoor access point. The NWA55AXE has been specially designed for harsh outdoor environments and has an IP55 certification. Among other things, it is also suitable for expanding existing outdoor WLAN networks. The weatherproof access point can be connected by cable as well as work in wireless mesh mode.
The NWA55AXE is backward compatible with the older IEEE802.11 ac/n/g/b/a standards and offers the latest WiFi-6 standard IEEE802.11 ax with up to 1,800 Mbit/s in the frequency bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The device has a dual-band 2×2 WiFi-6 wireless module, which, according to the manufacturer, should offer up to 25 percent faster speeds than previous wireless standards.
Smart Mesh
The Smart Mesh technology is intended to provide dynamic WLAN connections between access points for a longer range. Furthermore, the WLAN access from one building to another can also be bridged. If an even greater range is desired, another NWA55AXE can be integrated into the network via the smart mesh function. This works with the same network name and thus enables uninterrupted WLAN without having to switch mobile devices to airplane mode.
The access point can be managed and configured both locally and via the Nebula cloud management platform.
